Jimmy Smith

Having been brought up in the North East I returned in 2001. While here we have seen our eldest daughter progress from reception class to university. Our youngest daughter is currently enjoying secondary school. I work for HMRC in VAT as a project manager. Working as a taxman does not always make you the most popular person in the room! However it has given me experience in planning to achieve targets, monitoring performance, checking rules are being followed and finding better ways to do things. These are skills I hope will be useful to the school. Although new to being a governor I am looking forward to helping the Head Teacher and staff give the children a strong start to their learning and happy memories of school life. Away from work I enjoy getting out and about in the area, either cycling or on family walks.
